Tuv Ha'Aretz - Jewish food co-op
Tuv Ha'Aretz is a Jewish food co-op or CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) with one group in New York and a new group starting up in West Orange at JCC Metrowest. The startup costs are entirely funded by Hazon, with the intention of the CSA becoming financially independent over time.
The NJ-based CSA will be supplied by Starbrite Farms in Blairstown, NJ, which is owned and operated by farmer John Kreuger. The food is entirely organically produced. JCC Metrowest is donating space for the Wednesday night food distributions and is handling the financial transactions.
Shareholders pick up their produce on Wednesday nights from June to November. A full share is $485, with a half-share approximately half that price.
